Tighten & brighten your skin with Fractional RF

An effective combination of radiofrequency and micro-needling induces a powerful, natural healing response that stimulates skin tightening, cell regeneration, and collagen production

About Fractional RF

2.32@x2.png

Fractional RF (Max RF) uses a combination of dermal stamping and radiofrequency. Dermal stamping is an organic way of rebuilding collagen and elastin. Radiofrequency uses low-level radio waves to cause a thermal reaction within the dermis. This heat metabolises unhealthy cells and fibres, in-turn causing stimulation to produce healthy new cells. The result is added structure, reduced pore size, reduced acne scarring, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Preparation and aftercare

For clients with medium to dark skin tones, we recommend prepping the skin with a melanin inhibitor such as the Skinstitut™ Even Blend serum. This will help reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation after the treatment.

Use correct aftercare including gentle hydrating products such as the Skinstitut™ Gentle Cleanser, Normal Moisturiser, Rejuvenate 15 serum (contains copper peptides which can help accelerate wound healing).

1-2 days post-treatment:

- Avoid excessive exercise
- Avoid heat (hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms)
- Avoid chlorinated pools
- Use Skinstitut™ Rejuvenate 15 to repair the skin and encourage cellular regeneration. Apply 3-4 times daily in the first 24 hours.
- Use Skinstitut™ Multi-Active Mist to cool and hydrate skin
- Avoid sun exposure at least 14 days prior to the treatment
- Do not pull or pick any loose skin after the treatment

3 days post-treatment:

- Avoid active ingredients

5 days post-treatment:

- Avoid exfoliating products

7 days post-treatment:

- Avoid Cosmetic Injectable treatments

3-week post-treatment:

- Avoid excess direct sun exposure or solarium use as this will increase the chance of developing pigmentation.
- No waxing or depilatory creams at least 14 days prior.

For optimum results, we recommend 6 Fractional RF treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Top tip:

Book a 5-Step Custom Microdermabrasion 2 weeks prior to professionally exfoliate the skin. This prepares the quality of your skin's surface and will improve the results of your Fractional RF treatment.

For the ultimate healthy glow, opt for a Yellow LED Light Therapy treatment immediately after your Fractional RF session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question not listed below? Visit our FAQ page to find more answers and info about our complete range of laser, skin, body, and cosmetic procedures.

  • How many Fractional RF treatments will I need to see results?

Depending on your skin type and concern, it can vary between individuals. Our Skin Therapist will provide a tailored treatment plan during the initial consultation. To see significant results, we recommend a minimum of 4-6 treatments done at monthly intervals.

  • Does Fractional RF hurt?

Pain tolerance varies person to person. Whilst this treatment is non-invasive, if you have a low pain tolerance you may wish to purchase topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) at a pharmacy and apply it to your skin at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment.

  • How long the Fractional RF treatment take?

The treatment can take 30 - 45 minutes depending on the treatment area.

  • Can Fractional RF be performed on pregnant women?

We don't recommend this treatment for pregnant clients. Please seek medical advice prior to proceeding with the treatment.

  • If I had a Cosmetic Injectable or Laser Treatment, how long should I wait to get Fractional RF?

We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks. Please consult with your Skin Therapist if you plan to have any Cosmetic Injectables or Laser treatments so they can tailor the treatment plan to you.

  • Is there downtime with Fractional RF?

Downtime is minimal. You may experience mild to moderate redness, flaking, and slight swelling. These side effects are completely normal and usually subside within 3-5 days with the correct aftercare. To reduce downtime, we recommend the Yellow LED Light Therapy Skin treatment post-Fractional RF. This will help reduce inflammation and assist with wound healing.

  • What is the difference between Skin Needling and Fractional RF (Max RF)?

Skin Needling and Fractional RF are similar in the sense they both cause a controlled wound which then triggers a healing response where new collagen and elastin fibres are produced. Skin Needling is an organic way of stimulating Collagen and Elastin production whereas Fractional RF uses a combination of dermal stamping and Radio Frequency. Radio Frequency uses deep thermal effects which result in contraction of the collagen fibres. This will give a tightening effect after the treatment.

  • Is Dermal Rolling and Fractional RF (Max RF) painful?
Both treatments have minimal discomfort due to the application of a topical aesthetic prior to the treatment.
  • What treatments help to treat scarring?

At Laser Clinics, we have a number of treatments that can help improve the tone, texture, and size of scars. It is important to know that often scars are permanent and treating them can be a very long journey. Factors that can impact our therapists' ability to improve a scar can be the age, size, colour, and texture of the affected skin.

Our highly trained therapists are able to tailor a treatment plan for you and your scars in a one-on-one complimentary consultation. During your skin assessment, your therapist will be able to assess the scar and be able to diagnose a treatment plan for you.

Please note: When treating surgical or fresh scars it is advised to have clearance from your medical professional that it is safe to treat the scar as there is often a required waiting period to ensure safe treatment.
