Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am booked in for cosmetic injectables. Do I need to do anything beforehand?
Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin and Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment.
  • Do anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectables hurt?

Everyone experiences pain differently and has different pain thresholds. However, when it comes to anti-wrinkle injections, most people compare the sensation of the face injections to a quick prick. There is a slight pinching feeling, but it only lasts for a few seconds.

At Laser Clinics Australia, anti-wrinkle treatments require no anaesthetic. However, a topical anaesthetic can be used for dermal fillers if needed.

  • How many units will I need to get rid of my frown lines and crow’s feet?

To determine the correct dosage you need to book in for a complimentary consultation with one of our Cosmetic Injectors at your nearest Laser Clinics Australia location.

  • Can I get anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectables if I'm under 18?

We do not treat anyone under the age of 18 for cosmetic injectables. We do offer a wide range of skin treatments suitable for your age group. Book a complimentary consultation with one of our highly skilled Skin Therapists to get started.

  • Can I get anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectable treatments while pregnant?

No. Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we do not treat clients who are pregnant. We advise against all cosmetic injectable treatments whilst pregnant simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on cosmetic injectable treatment effects on the fetus.

  • What's the difference between Option 1 and Option 2?

We always use the best and safest products available in the market. In Australia, there are 2 main types of anti-wrinkle injectable products. For legal reasons, we are unable to use their brand names so let's call them Option 1 and Option 2.

Both are a type of botulinum type A used to relax the muscles that cause frown lines and other overactive muscles of the face, like forehead lines and crows feet. It’s like comparing apples to apples. There’s a difference between a Fuji apple and a Pink Lady apple, but they are still both apples.

Option 2 is a smaller-sized molecule so its unit measurement is different than Option 1. In some cases, you may need more units of Option 2 to achieve the same effect as Option 1, due to the size of these molecules.

    Option 2 -

Dysport has a slightly quicker onset (2-5 days vs 4-7 days for Botox)

  • How long do anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectable results last?

Anti-wrinkle injections start to work 2-3 days after the injection and reach their full effect within 7-14 days. The effects can typically last for up to 3-4 months depending on the individual.
