Skin Treatments for Sensitive Skin

Today’s skin concerns go beyond the usual fine lines and wrinkles. Some may notice redness on the surface of their skin, severe acne breakouts and even some inflammation. These are signs of sensitive skin. And usually, home remedies don’t always work.

At Laser Clinics Australia, we’ve seen these conditions and concerns in so many of our clients. We have the team and technology to help improve these symptoms. Here is a list of common skin concerns and how to treat them.

3 common concerns for sensitive skin

  1. Genetic skin conditions

Sensitive skin can be inherited and may come in the form of:

  • Eczema - a skin condition that causes rashes, itchiness, dry skin and even blisters and infections when untreated
  • Psoriasis - a skin condition similar to eczema but more commonly found on the elbows, knees, scalp and trunk of the body
  • Rosacea - a common skin condition that causes intense flushing or blushing

You can talk to a dermatologist regarding your skin condition or book a consultation with us so you can get the best and most appropriate treatment.

  1. Acne

Most of us have had a huge acne problem at least once in our lives, particularly during our teenage years. But adults also experience serious outbreaks due to excess oil production, bacteria formation on the skin and inflammation. Acne can worsen due to hormonal changes, your diet and even stress.

The signs of acne include the presence of the following:

  • Pimples
  • Blackheads
  • Whiteheads

Papules, nodules and cystic lesions may also be present, although uncommon or rare.

  1. Contact dermatitis

Does your skin feel irritated or become red when you try on a new skincare product or are exposed to extreme temperatures? Have you had an itchy feeling when you sweat? This could be attributed to some form of contact dermatitis. There are three types:

  • Allergic contact dermatitis - occurs when your skin develops an allergic reaction to a foreign substance (fragrance on skincare products, latex gloves, etc.)
  • Irritant contact dermatitis - occurs when your skin comes in contact with a toxic material (bleach, cleaners, battery acid)
  • Photocontact dermatitis - occurs when your skin becomes irritated when an active ingredient in a skincare product is exposed to the sun

How to treat sensitive skin

Laser Clinics Australia targets and minimises the symptoms of these conditions through a few notable skin treatments. Check out which best fits your needs and be sure to book a consultation with us after reading.

AquaFacial

This is a hydrodermabrasion treatment that uses natural ingredients and professional technology to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate rough and dry skin, congested pores and even ageing skin. So this is perfect for all skin types and those with sensitive skin.

The 6-step treatment includes deep cleansing to remove the impurities on your skin, followed by an exfoliating triple-acid peel for an even deeper cleaning experience. Afterwards, you can choose which serum you prefer to get some nutrients into your skin and enhance serum absorption with a solution specifically formulated for this treatment. You’ll also go through a quick tightening and lifting step and finally a cooling step to enhance skin repair and reduce any redness.

Kleresca®

Kleresca® is a non-invasive technology that delivers long-lasting results with little to no downtime. Depending on your need, you can opt for our Acne Treatment or Rosacea Treatment.

The Kleresca® Acne Treatment is a painless and safe way to reduce pimples, redness on the skin, and even inflamed areas. After each session, you will get beautifully balanced, smooth and clear skin.

On the other hand, the Kleresca® Rosacea Treatment is also painless and safe, and within 4-6 treatments, you’ll achieve calmer skin all throughout. This treatment uses fluorescent light energy to reduce inflammation and redness.

Microdermabrasion

If you prefer more gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells, especially if you have a mild acne breakout or if you’re experiencing redness that is common in some skin conditions like Rosacea, then you can try microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion involves buffing away the uppermost layer of the skin and so it works to alleviate the signs of congestion. This is a great treatment for those with only an hour or so to spare in their busy day.

Cosmetic Grade Peels

Cosmetic grade peels work to reduce redness due to Rosacea, acne scarring and large pores, among other concerns. There are several treatment options to choose and it will all depend on what your concern is. Like Microdermabrasion, cosmetic grade peel sessions are quick and safe ways to repair and polish your skin.

Skin Needling

With the use of the Rejuavpen®, our skin needling treatment plumps out your skin to reduce the signs of ageing and acne scarring, as well as enlarged pores and pigmentation. While this is a non-surgical treatment, we do advise our customers to work with our medical team to create a plan suited to them.

People with sensitive skin can rejoice in the fact that there are skin treatments tailored to their conditions and symptoms. Using safe and best-in-class technology, our experienced team of Therapists will work with you to get the results you need each and every time. Book a consultation today.
