Medically-backed expertise

Performed by our team of medically trained Doctors and Cosmetic Registered Nurses, lip shaping and defining is a discreet way to restore volume, hydration, structure, and balance to the lips.

How it works

4.19@x2.png

Collagen loss due to skin ageing affects our skin elasticity and suppleness, and our lips also lose volume and become thinner.

When we lose collagen, our skin's structural integrity declines and our overall volume diminishes. Essentially, our lips deflate with time.

Cosmetic Aesthetics can be used to create balance and symmetry, or add volume to the lip area.

Cosmetic Aesthetics can also be used for clients who struggle with wrinkles and fine lines in the mouth area, have thin and poorly shaped lips, or desire fuller lips.

Your Laser Clinics Cosmetic Registered Nurse will have a detailed discussion with you to understand your treatment priorities. They will also review your medical history to align with treatment safety requirements.

Once the consultation is complete, a series of photos are taken which are kept on your account file and used as a progress assessment.

Next, the lips are cleaned thoroughly with a medical cleaning solution and then topical numbing cream is applied for up to 15 minutes to minimise discomfort. Once the cream has numbed the lips, the lips are cleaned again, and the treatment begins.

Many different techniques can be used in this area. Your Cosmetic Registered Nurse will focus on the areas of your lips that you most want to target, whether increasing the size or defining or shaping the lips.

  • Why am I required to complete a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening?

We want to ensure you feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. That's why we adhere to the latest guidelines set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening, developed by the Medical Board of Australia. This ensures that we maintain the highest standards of care and address any underlying mental health concerns.

  • What happens in a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening?

Our healthcare professionals will ask general questions about BDD in your medical history form upon arrival at your appointment, followed by formal screening if deemed necessary. This helps us tailor treatment plans and make informed decisions to ensure your well-being.

Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us throughout the entire screening process.

  • What should I do prior to the Cosmetic Aesthetics treatment?

Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin and Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment.

  • Can I eat or drink after my Cosmetic Aesthetics treatment?

Yes, you can eat and drink after your Cosmetic Aesthetics treatment. It may feel a little strange at first as there may be some swelling present. For the first 24 hours, you'll want to avoid eating foods that require excessive chewing so the product can settle.
