Candela Mini GentleLASE and Candela GentleLASE PRO

At Laser Clinics Australia we use the Candela GenleLASE, Candela's premier hair removal laser. The GentleLASE is a medical grade laser approved by the FDA and TGA and regarded as the gold standard in cosmetic lasers.

Is the GentleLASE effective?

The GentleLASE uses an alexandrite crystal to produce a powerful and targeted beam of light at a wavelength of 755 nm. At this wavelength you will see from the graph below there is a very high absobtion of melanin(black line) whilst a very low water(blue line) and oxyhemoglobin(red line) absorbtion.

It is these absorbtion levels that make the Candela GentleLASE the most effective laser available for laser hair removal and pigmentation treatment.

How long do treatments using the GentleLASE take?

Fortunately removing hair follicle by follicle is now a thing of the past. With a maximum spot size of 18mm the GentleLASE boasts the largest in it class. Each pulse being approximately the size of a twenty cent coin means large areas can now be treated in a relatively short amount of time. Further, the GentleLASE offers one of the fastest repetition rates found on any hair removal laser.

Is the GentleLASE painful?

The GentleLASE utilises a patented skin cooling device meaning treatments can now be virtually pain free. The pain has been likened to that of a rubber band being flicked against the skin.
